Two DocTIS Presentations at the National Congress of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology

A partner of the DocTIS project, Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca, attended the 50th National Congress of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology in Maspalomas, Canary Islands, Spain. They delivered two significant presentations featuring contributions from DocTIS.
Alejandro Gómez presented “Single cell characterization of circulating immune cells in Sjögren’s Syndrome: comparison to Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Rheumatoid Arthritis.” He shared preliminary results on the systemic-level characterization of three related Immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) using single cell technologies. By using baseline data from the DoCTIS project on Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), the study investigated common and specific biological pathways in Sjögren’s Syndrome. This data proved crucial for identifying meaningful, translatable targets.
Antonio Julià presented “Application of Omics technologies to Psoriatic Arthritis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.” He reviewed advances in Genome-wide and Single cell data for SLE and Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA). The DoCTIS project was highlighted as a key technological advancement in characterizing these IMIDs, exemplified by the project presented by Alejandro Gómez.
