Data from DocTIS presented at Spain's National Psoriasis Congress

Dr. José Manuel Carrascosa Carrillo, Head of Dermatology at the Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol (Badalona, Spain), presented the study titled “Comparative scRNA-Seq Analysis of the Circulating Immune System in Atopic Dermatitis and Psoriasis” during the 10th National Psoriasis Congress, held in Madrid from January 17–18, 2025.

This research utilized single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-Seq) data from psoriasis patients in the DocTIS project to compare immune system profiles with those of another chronic skin condition, atopic dermatitis. Conducted in collaboration with DocTIS partners VHIR and IMIDomics, among others, the study reveals that, although the two diseases are immune-mediated conditions targeting the skin, there are profound differences at the cellular and molecular levels. These differences could influence the development of new, more effective therapies.

The 10th National Psoriasis Congress, organized by the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AEDV) with both in-person and online attendance, hosted over 800 participants, including doctors and researchers from across Spain, to discuss the latest developments and research on this disease.

Dr. Carrascosa’s presentation received the runner-up award for the best oral communication. Congratulations!
